Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Taylor is an American actor and producer who is best famous for the roles she performed in Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist as well as the TV series The Mentalist. She graduated with the B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer working in theater, film and television. Her acting journey began as a theater actress and then appeared in a number of television series and independent and mainstream movies. She was known for appearing as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's huge The Book of Negroes. The series both received reviews, and she also won a lot of prizes. She made her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. Her stage credits comprise Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production directed by Joe Turner. The most recognizable part of her career is her roles in the films Men of Honor as well as The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. Her most well-known role is her part in ABC's crime show High Incident.
