McCormack is a native of Connecticut, born in a home that had no connection to entertainment whatsoever to her family tree, is the child of a clinical therapist and the owner of an Ice Cream Shop. Her professional career started at the age of 12 when she appeared in a stage production of 'Amahl and the Night Visitors, a Christmas opera. In the age of twelve, she began her acting career with one of the productions of the Christmas musical "Amahl And The Night Visitor". While she pursued her profession in theatre, McCormack eventually was cast in roles on the film and television. McCormack has been recognized as the most well-known and most versatile performers. McCormack has three daughters along with her husband, producer/director Michael Morris.
